The talented all-rounder Naomi Dattani has officially joined Hampshire Women for the 2025 season.

She made an immediate impact when she signed on loan for Southern Vipers at the end of the 2024 season, quickly claiming her first five-wicket haul in just her second match.

Dattani's cricket journey began in 2008 when she made her county debut for Middlesex.

In 2017, she became the 50-over captain of the team.

Dattani said: "I’m really excited to join Hampshire for the upcoming season.

"I had a taste of the players and coaches last summer with Southern Brave and Southern Vipers and relished working with Charlotte Edwards and the staff here.

"I’m looking forward to calling Utilita Bowl my new home and I can’t wait to get stuck in."

Her versatility and talent have been evident in The Hundred, where she played regularly for London Spirit in 2021 and 2022.

She was picked up by Trent Rockets for the 2023 season, before head coach Charlotte Edwards drafted her for Southern Brave in 2024.

In the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and Charlotte Edwards Cup, Dattani has claimed 42 wickets and scored 1,124 runs.

She also took five wickets and scored 215 runs in The Hundred.

Adam Carty, regional director of women’s cricket, said: "In Naomi we have experience, a three-dimensional, dual-format, match-winner, who has the ambition, focus, and self-awareness to be an integral player for Hampshire in 2025.

"We are very pleased with Naomi’s signing and share her excitement at what the future might bring for her in yellow and blue."

Dattani spent the final three games of the 2024 season on loan from Thunder to Southern Vipers, where she claimed her maiden professional five-wicket haul, picking up 5-51 against Sunrisers at Utilita Bowl.
