With a return to the league programme after the Christmas break, Division Two leaders Hanson Mod were soon back into their stride with a 10-0 rout of the Hanson D trio which takes Greenwood, Warran and Benjamin well clear.
Nearest rivals Test Valley A faltered when they visited South Wonston Beech, only collecting six points in the win. For once, Richard Biles outshone his son, Stephen and fellow team member Ralph Oakes, who failed to regain the form he showed in the run-up to the seasonal break. Depot A, with Josh Purton showing the way with all three singles, recorded a much needed 8-2 win over Hanson E. Kenneth Gates should have also got his third, but a tremendous fight back by Mike Shepherd proved his undoing. Coming from two sets down, Shepherd squared the game at 2-2 and then recovered from 0-5 in the final set to take it 11-9. Josh Jones will also remember this match as he won his first ever league games.
