Whitchurch Utd 2 Andover New Street 6.
Back in October Whitchurch beat New Street 6-2 at Andover and incredibly the two sides produced a reversed score.
However the scoreline does not accurately portray either the balance of the game or chances. New Street opened the scoring midway through the first half but by that time Whitchurch could easily have been three or four up. Michael Jones missed two early chances then John Rimmer was wide and Elliot Capel had a shot saved by Dave Tasker.
Ian Davies screwed the ball wide with the goal gaping and centre back Paul George missed from six yards.
Then after 23 minutes New Street took the lead with their first chance. George conceded a free-kick just outside the penalty area and Matt Styles shot home with keeper Craig Atkinson helpless.
On the half hour Whitchurch were back level when from a short corner, Tasker could only push the ball out to Davies who scored from close range.
Two minutes later he had another chance but after rounding Tasker he shot against a post. The ball went right up the other end and Jamie Coleman scored from 25 yards. Seven minutes from the break New Street were 3-1 up when from a Styles corner Lee Cogan scored with a spectacular shoulder high volley.
Between then and half-time Davies had three more chances but it was New Street who increased their lead as a cross by Anthony Walters was headed in by Styles. Predictably the first chance in the second half fell to John Rimmer who shot wide and New Street went straight up the other end and Coleman scored again with a header from a corner.
A minute later from point blank range Tasker pulled off a good save but could only parry the ball back into Davies' path and he shot home. At 5-2 Andover should have been safe but substitute Pa Touray gave them a scare as he headed home only to be given offside.
On the hour Whitchurch were forced to change goalkeeper as John Rimmer took overbut his first job was to pick the ball out of the net as Jamie Pollard scored Andover’s sixth.
