DURING the run-up to Christmas, I was out around the town and some surrounding villages, with my trombone, playing carols to raise money for Andover Food Bank.
I would like to thank all who contributed, not only for supporting this worthy cause, but also for their good will; it has been a pleasure to play for such genial and generous people.
On Saturday 20 December, I was busking, with a friend, near the Guildhall, when we were invited to play for carol singing in the Time Ring.
We duly relocated, joining the assembled group of singers from local churches for an hour of favourite carols, and I am pleased to report that the morning’s collection totalled £46.81.
The many other kind contributors, and welcoming licensees, in Abbotts Ann, Hurstbourne Tarrant, Ibthrope, Weyhill and various other parts of Andover, may like to know that all their generosity has enabled me to pass on a grand total of £174.29 to the Andover Food Bank.
A huge thank you and a very Happy New Year to everyone.
Ros Yarlett, The Crescent, Andover.
