I would like to take the opportunity through your letters page to thank all those involved in the Christmas lights switch-on last Friday.

It was an excellent and well-organised event which saw a massive turnout. Many organisations including Test Valley Borough Council, Andover BID and Andover Town Council (which provided the tree and lights) as well as the many stalls and entertainers, all played a role in generating an exceptional evening of community entertainment.

We had three stages, funfairs, and lots of stalls and this encouraged a large turnout.

Many thanks to all the organisers and participants. It was a great evening and highlighted Andover’s potential.
