It has been encouraging to see some limited action regarding the many hazardous potholes in the Andover area.
Obviously, unsuspecting motorists have suffered varying degrees of damage as a result of Hampshire County Council's inaction in this regard further aggravated by their claims on the council being dismissed.
In our hamlet of East Cholderton we have experienced welcome remedial work and except for one patch which was far from professionally done, the improvement is appreciated. However, there are still many more potholes needing urgent attention.
I would also highlight the massive increases in vehicle insurance. My renewal quote was over double that last year. Of course, one reason given in the media is potholes.
I would suggest though that one of the reasons is the extra costs involving E.V,s. Recovering broken-down or accident-damaged electric vehicles involves much more expensive equipment and operatives.
I feel by highlighting this once again we are made aware of yet another element in the reasons for the spiralling cost of living phenomenon.
