I see that a planning application has been submitted to demolish the Weyhill Fair pub and build new dwellings on the site.
I visited the pub some years ago and remember the fascinating mural on an upstairs wall depicting scenes of Weyhill Fair’s history. I attach an extract from the book Test Valley Tapestry, published in 1995, featuring the mural.
READ MORE: Historic pub which closed a year ago could be converted into nine new homes
Does the mural still exist? Is anything being done to preserve it?
