IN answer to 'disgruntled voter' in last week’s Advertiser, I believe that the [child benefit] cap should stay at two, regardless of which political party endorses it.
Maybe they don't realise that child benefit was introduced, as a temporary measure, to endeavour to increase the population after the Second World War. Then it only applied to the second child, the first did not qualify.

I believe that the population in the UK is stable, if not heading towards over population, so we don’t need to encourage bringing more children into this rather unstable world.
If parents want more than two children, all well and good, but don’t expect the taxpayer to fund them. Don’t have what you cannot afford.
